Obituary of Georgia Alice Baird

On Thursday, August 19, 2010 Mrs. Georgia Baird of Hardisty, Alberta passed away at the Hardisty Health Center at the age of 82 years. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Bob. Georgia and Bob had five children, Andy (deceased), Guy (Bonnie) Baird of Wainwright, Alberta, Jan Walker of Okotoks, Alberta, Wynn Baird of Hardisty, Alberta, Phyllis Baird of Vancouver, British Columbia. Georgia also leaves, her daughter-in-law, Gail Baird; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister, Muriel Ully; four brothers, Russell Dixson, Gordon Dixson, Ron Dixson, Chester Dixson. Georgia Alice Dixson was educated at Tagona, Alberta. She left during the war years and worked as a domestic. She then went on to Fort Macleod to work as a seamstress, where she met her husband, Robert Baird (Bob). They were married in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1948. Together they raised five children, each as beautiful as the flowers they tenderly grew. Together they ran several businesses. They retired to Grand Forks in 1981. They then went to Hardisty in 2006 and have enjoyed St. Paul’s United Church. She leaves behind her dear friends and may God Bless them all.
