Dear Jackson and Kennedy this is Karen from the library I am so sorry for what you and your family are going thru your Dad was an incredible person always kind and I remember the day you told me Jackson about shovelling peoples walks the next time Darren came in I said you must be so proud of your son and he said yes I am I remember the day you and Kennedy stopped by the library and you two said we just wanted to stop by and see how your day was going that warmed my heart God has him now but he lives on in your heart

Darren was my dad and I had him to talk to for 13 amazing years. I can still talk to him but in a different way. I will never forget every moment I've had with him. If God or dad could do one thing for me it would be to please watch over mom and the rest of the family. Dad we all love you. We will miss you but you've always been in my heart. If you could please put the Saskatchewan rough riders as a tribute photo that would mean the world to me.

Dear Karlee, Jackson and Kennedy, and Norma, and families. Terry and I are very sad for this tragic accident that took Darren. Darren was such a vibrant fellow and always doing his very best; he truly loved his wife & his children, and he worked hard to always provide for them. Sometimes he worked away from home but he would always return home for his time off. When you lived in Lloyd, Darren always brought his kids to see me when I was visiting my sister Norma. Darren had the spirit for the Sask Roughriders; and a lot of love for his extended families. Darren was a very proud nephew to us who was always eager to see and visit when possible. Because Darren always said grace from age 2 or 3 yrs and onwards; sometimes grace was really long, but it always was genuine and came from his heart. I have a little prayer to share with Jackson & Kennedy: "Thank you for the world so sweet Thank you for the food we eat Thank you for the birds that sing Thank you God, for everything." I was grateful when I learnt Darren had moved to Blackfalds, just a few blocks away. It was great to reconnect with him! Riley enjoyed having him as his soccer coach and we will be forever thankful for that connection. We are still just a few blocks away if there is anything you need. Darren was a special nephew. Years ago I remember visiting Lloydminster and the farm from Nova Scotia when Darren was a young boy. I remember when we were all attending family dinners either at the farm, at Auntie Barb's house or at Grandma & Grandpa Penny's house and Darren would say the most special prayers before we ate. Darren had a special way with words; very direct and very caring. Auntie Barb and I would often feel very emotional listening to Darren share the blessing of the meal. Another special visit was when Darren was playing his guitar for me and my mother-in-law at about the age of 12. He was so pleased to share his talents. I have had the privilege of sharing letters and conversations with Jackson and Kennedy and enjoying Karlee's family posts on FB. These posts have helped me keep a connection with all of Norma's family that has been so rewarding especially during the past year of the pandemic. Love and prayers to all from Auntie Sandy
