Obituary of Dr. George Charles Stewart-Hunter

On Friday, April 2, 2021 Dr. George Charles Stewart-Hunter passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 97 years in the Vermilion Health Centre. Stewart is loved and remembered by his Loving children, Chris Stewart-Hunter of Edmonton, and Peter (and Ann) Stewart-Hunter of Vancouver; and his Grandson Connor and Granddaughter Nikki; As well as his extended family and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his wife Morfydd “Moi” Stewart-Hunter and his daughter, Catriona “Cate” Stewart-Hunter. Stewart will be remembered for his incredible contribution to the medical world as a practicing doctor up until the age of 97. His care, compassion, and dedication to helping others was truly remarkable. Along with Stewart’s passion for his work as a doctor, he had many other passions including painting, writing, poetry, skiing, race car driving, flying, music, and travelling, as well. He loved his family and friends and had an enormous respect and admiration for his colleagues. He made our world a better place and truly left a big footprint in the world and hearts of those who knew him. Cremation has taken place at Creech's Crematorium and a due to Covid-19 restrictions a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. If so desired donations in memory of Stewart may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
