Obituary of Jean Anne Belanger

Jean Anne Belanger was born Thursday, April 28, 1938 in Lintlaw, SK to William and Caroline Joss. As a young lady Jean married George Belanger and to this union came two beautiful daughters. While raising the family in the Wainwright area, Jean was devoted to the girls all the while making time to be active in community. Through her many years of volunteering she was known for being Mrs. Claus annually alongside her husband, George, as Mr. Claus; taking the Town of Wainwright float around to the local parades; and her home care work. Most of all, she will be dearly remembered and forever missed as Mom and Grandma by her two daughters and their families: Cindy (Gordon) Chiliak and Kim (Rob) Barber; five grandchildren, Joseph (Andreea Moldovan) Chiliak, Tasha (Nathan Peters) Chiliak, Zachery Barber, Kayla Barber, and Erin (Michael) Dockery; and one great-granddaughter, Harper Mary Peters. She will also be remembered as a dear sister by Ina Eusanio and Glen (Jean) Joss. Jean was also a dear friend to many. Jean was predeceased by her husband, George; parents, William and Caroline Joss; and brother, Dave Joss. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, August 22, 2018, 2:00 p.m. from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wainwright, AB with Father Moses Savarimuthu, SAC officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at the Saint Vincent Cemetery, County of St. Paul, AB. Jean suggested any memorial donations be made to Hayin' In The 30's Cancer Support Society.
