I used to see Barry once a month every 3rd Tuesday of the month for 19 years when I would visit him as we would discuss product needs for his practice. We would often talk about social or political topics of the day. He was only of the kindest and most gentle persons I have ever known. I know that anyone who knew him will assuredly miss him as a friend who cared for everyone. REST PEACEFULLY BARRY. Your friend, Pat Cunningham

I suffered for years with back pain and was recommended by a friend to go see Barry. He said Barry was " A healer". He was right. Barry became a very good friend of mine and today the world is less without him. I thank god for bringing Barry into my life. He healed me, and taught me so much. You will never be forgotten and always sadly missed. Tim Szott.

From the John Giebelhaus Family to Barry's Family, our condolences. Barry was John's table mate at Vegreville Care Centre. He always made everyone feel welcome with a ready joke and easy conversation on virtually any topic. He awed us on many subjects with the amount of knowledge he had. It was a real pleasure knowing Barry.

Dr. Champion looked after our whole family for many years, through 4 pregnancies, many "rides" on his table for inquisitive toddlers, and more than one emergency evening appointment. He was one of my very favourite people , a gifted, patient and intuitive chiropractor, a brilliant man who could have done anything well. I enjoyed our spirited and sometimes fierce theological debates, the long duration of which I'm sure drove his secretaries crazy-! We will meet again, Barry. Much love to Wilma.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories in his home with jen. Loved watching movies his massage chair in the den, eating his sugar free candy, riding in the TINY back seat of his truck, and wondering how he was ever going to figure out how to put all those parts into his old car in the garage. what a great man. So sorry for your loss. We will be praying for peace and comfort for you jen, chris and wilma.

I have lost a great friend, with whom I spent many times of laughter, someone who lit up when he saw you, as you lit up when you saw him, who never failed to lighten up any one of my days, that he was part of. He was one of the most intelligent men I have known, his knowledge astounded me, he helped me solve many problems. When we were younger we would share the occasional non-alcoholic beer and a cigar over good conversation, Barry loved to visit. As a chiropractor, I could never replace him, he would go to his office or come to your home anytime, dependent on your need, as I found out over the years. One day, as I was preparing for school, my back went out, I crawled down the hallway to my bed and phoned Barry. Barry and Wilma lived down the road at Ascot Heights. Barry said, let me have a shower, John and I will be right over. In the shower he stepped on the soap, he fell wrenching and hurting his own back. So, when I heard him at the door, I came down the hall bent at a right angle to see Barry coming toward me also bent at a right angel. My son, Jak, said something inappropriate about us, Barry told him, young man, your day will come (It did, but Barry, being Barry, did not take revenge, he was full of empathy for Jak). With mixed emotions I watched a Barry, who was in as much pain as I, help me, his face contorted in pain. He was quite a guy, with a very big heart. His exile to Vegreville was not easy, but he accepted it with grace. My last visit in October concerned me. Now Barry is at peace. Wilma and family you have my condolences .

I remember Dr. Barry not as a Dr., but as a family friend where we would spend many of occasions, on the acreage, enjoying time with the family. I was young enough, where I would be sound asleep to the laughter of all the guests, Those are the most fond memories. As a young Athlete, as I grew older, playing hockey, a quick visit to the table would put things back into place. But that doesn't do justice to the quick humor and the time spent with someone who knew us as well as he did.
Rest well Dr. Champion. We'll see you again soon. But not yet.
