I know Gary wouldn't have wanted me to be wishy-washy about anything, but too bad. I worked for the store for a year with Gary and Wendy, and they were both much more than just employers to me. They were friends. Gary and I spent many hours standing while I was at work and chatting about everything from fish, to dog shows, to politics, to oilfields, to horses. He was a wealth of knowledge and did his homework, knew what he was talking about. He helped many people in Wainwright and surrounding areas with pet conundrums, and was always open to give advice or help someone out with their animal, and many other things. He was full of grit and had many strong opinions, but it made him who he was. He seemed so happy to be finally retired, getting to fix up his classic car and enjoying time in his workshop. That is where he belonged, I think, he just enjoyed it so much. I had and have the utmost respect for him, and am saddened by his sudden passing. But I think that he would like us all to be grateful for our lives and many luxuries, rather than being sad. You have taught me so much Gary, and helped me a lot too in many facets of my life. Thank you. Same goes for Wendy. If you ever need anything, you know where I live, give me a call. I hope Gary can rest peacefully now. He has definitely left a legacy of knowledge and education.

Wendy, I am so sorry for your loss. Gary will be sorely missed. I will miss his humour and his point of view of the world around us. Just seeing him around town we would always stop and catch up. I will miss that! If there is anything that I can do to help you please don't hesitate to call me.

Wendy, I was so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. I will always remember my phone conversations with him, where he would say he was "Not too bad for an old guy" and we would discuss my "killer dog" Lacey. I looked forward to my visits to the store to visit with the two of you! My condolences.
