Obituary of Jack Lewis MacDonald

On Tuesday, June 14, 2011 Mr. Jack MacDonald of Wainwright, Alberta passed away at the Wainwright General Hospital at the age of 90 years. Jack was born to Marguerite and Hugh MacDonald on February 14, 1921 at the farm near Shackleton, Saskatchewan. The family later moved to a farm near Kindersley in 1935. Jack was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Gerald (RCAF 1943), Clarence, and nephews Lawrence and Kevin Kraft. He is survived by his twin Archie and sisters Rochelle Evans and Joan Kraft and their families of Calgary as well as his loving companion Hazel Mitchell and her extended family at Wainwright, AB and the much loved members of his other family, the Turnbulls. Jack will return to his beloved Saskatchewan for burial in the Merrington Cemetery northwest of Kindersley where he lived and worked until retirement .Farming was his life, his saxophone and dancing his pleasure and to dozens of young people he will always be remembered as Grandpa Jack.”
