Please accept my deepest sympathies. Stephen touched the lives of so many and I for one, am grateful for having known him. I am glad that we had the opportunity to catch up at Gary Szybunka's retirement party a few years ago.
May you find comfort in these words:
"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." ~ Leo Buscaglia

Steve it's sad to see you go. You always had a zest for life in everything that you've undertaken, Moving out west and starting teaching in small towns and making friends wherever you have been. I'll always remember the times teaching together and partying together the activities that we were able to share. You have always loved your family down east and your persent family. All the best wishes to your wife and children. The last time I saw you was when you were married 22 years ago this August. RIP Don Tanchuk

Cathy and Kids,
Stephen was a great man who had time for everyone. I played numerous games of hockey against him and with him. He was a true competitor who enjoyed a challenge. He was a man of character and our days in BTPS and after in ECACS will be fondly remembered. To Cathy and the kids words cannot describe the loss of your loved one. Take solace in the fact that your husband and father was a great man who cared for kids.
With deepest thoughts and great memories of Stephen

I was so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I first met Steve when I went to Paradise Valley to take over the principalship when he moved to Marwayne. He was very generous with his time and helped me with a smooth transition. Steve became a good friend and colleague. He had great energy, sense of humor, and was also interested in making education better for our students. He was most proud of his family and I'll never forget how his eyes lit up when he spoke of them. Steve was a happy man. I will never be able to hear a Jimmy Buffet song without thinking of him. He will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest condolences go out to Cathy and the kids. Steve was a big part of many of our lives here in Sangudo growing up, as he coached us in EVERTYHING! Softball, volleyball, badminton, hockey, and even growing up.... He got me to Vermilion and coached me there as well with the College Volleyball team. There met my best friends, and my wife. I was glad i was able to tell Steve that in person a couple years ago, on how much his guidance with me personally will always be appreciated. Thanks again Steve.

Time has gone by and our worlds have drifted apart, but know that you are well remembered from our days together at LCHS. My heart goes out to you and your children for losing Steve years too soon - before you had time to fulfill all of your hopes and dreams. Your family and close friends will be your "rock", and one day you'll be able to look back at all the memories you and Steve have made and know that you had a wonderful time together.
