Obituary of John Robert Walsh

The death of John “Jack” Robert Walsh of Wainwright, AB and formerly Napan , NB occurred in Lac des Isles, SK on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the age of 62. Born in Chatham, NB, Jack was the son of the late Forrest and Edith Walsh. John (Jack) Walsh passed away suddenly after a day of doing what he loved; spending time with his wife, friends and fishing at Lac Des Isles. Jack was raised, lived and created childhood memories in Loggieville, New Brunswick where he met and fell in love with Ruth Bremner in 1971 and they would marry and begin their lives together as one. Jack and Ruth spent there time visiting with neighbours, helping out wherever needed and spending quality time with their family. They appreciated life to the fullest and decided to start a family. They had two children, Mark and Stacey. As a family, road trips were made too many horse races and children activities. Over the years Jack volunteered many hours with the 4-H club and different Napan community organizations as well as harness racing. He supported his family being a heavy equipment operator, auto body mechanic with the Department of National Defence where in 1994 they relocated to Wainwright, AB where he worked the remainder of his career until retirement in 2002. His favourite past times included spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, hunting, camping, fishing, and visiting neighbours and his love for hockey lead him to become actively involved with the Bison and Rustlers. Jack would fill a room with a roar with his unique belly, knee slapping laughter. He was a fun loving man always smiling and he always seemed to have the last laugh and found a silver lining in any situation. As Jack would have said “Keep a strain on’er” So take this a piece of advice, live life at the fullest and enjoy every moment. Jack is survived by his loving wife Ruth (Bremner) Walsh of Wainwright; two children Mark (Kari) Walsh and Stacey (Monte Poitras) Walsh all of Wainwright; four grandchildren; Jordan, Akayla, Danika and Delrae; his mother-in-law Edith Bremner of Miramichi, NB; four sisters: Joan MacNaughton (Fred), Ruth Loggie, Joy Martin (Ronnie), Mary Cameron (Dale); three brothers: Roy (Peggy), Billy (Carla) and Kevin (Susan) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack is predeceased by his father-in-law George Bremner and two brothers-in-law: Malcolm Taylor and Roland Loggie.
