Wayne & Karen I just saw your Mom's obituary in the Journal this morning. I remember you and your folks from years ago -- your parents were always so good to my Grandma Oldham, taking her to church when she was in the Lodge and later in the Auxilliary Hospital. May God be with you and comfort you as you celebrate your Mom's life, and look forward to seeing her again in Heaven.

I met Edith through bowling league years and years ago. She shared a spot on our Friday team for a couple of years, and we enjoyed her company at a few tournaments as well. I'm sure many of her friends know Edith made the BEST cinnamon buns, kept her house and yard so clean and tidy, and had a wonderful sense of humor. We teased her about being grumpy, which was mostly an act on her part, because she'd always allow us a smile to follow it up. I'm sorry I didn't spend more time with her in these past couple of years. Both she and Mike have a permanent spot in my heart and memories.

To Edith's Family. I am very sad to hear of Edith's passing. This lady will always hold a special place in my heart. I met Edith shortly after I started working at the hospital,Edith was running the recreation department.Edith just kind of took me under her wing...always having time to talk or share a laugh.Edith took such pride in her job at the hospital, and I sure missed her when she retired. I got to visit with her again when she moved to the lodge, as I would run into her when going there to visit my parents. We always exchanged big hugs and had small talk as to how each other were doing. I will never forget this fine lady.......My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

I used to play for Hymn Sing at the Auxiliary when Edith was in charge of Recreation...we would sing duets together - all the old hymns that we both loved. She was a very special lady and a wonderful christian. I just learned of her passing today, the day of her service, and was unable to attend. My prayers are with you, her family as I'm sure she will leave a deep hole in your hearts.

Dear Wayne, Karen, and families, I was so saddened to hear of your mom and grandma's passing. As I thought of her and what an amazing lady she was it brought back a flood of treasured memories from our time together at the Auxiliary. She touched so many with her pure heart. As a young teenager when we met, I grew up in that recreation department, and Edith was a big part of steering me down the path of becoming a Recreation Therapist. She taught me so much about the value in caring for others. She will always hold a special corner in my heart. Sincerely, Tammy
