Obituary of Elizabeth (Betty) Pierce

Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Pierce (nee Prior) passed away peacefully early in the morning on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the age of 86 years. She was born to Erle and Elizabeth (lizzie) Prior on February 18, 1933. She married the love of her life, Arthur (Art) Pierce on November 14, 1952. Together they farmed, made a home and raised a family of five children. Betty was a passionate member of the community and a committed mother and grandmother. She loved get-togethers and was a longtime member of the Albert Community Association and the Irma United Church. She loved to cook for a crowd and she was renowned for her homemade buns, which were beyond compare! Betty was an avid crafter, knitting countless items, and was also a talented quilter. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Erle and Lizzie; her two sons, Leigh and Bradley; her son-in-law, Larry Dickson; her brothers-in-law, Victor Johnson and Stanley Pierce. She is survived by her husband, Art Pierce; her children, David (Lily), Brent (Evelyn) and Nola; her daughters-in-law, Glenda (John) and Valerie (Dwayne); as well as her sister, Evelyn Johnson; and her brother, Ronnie (Carol) Prior. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brett, Justin, Tara, Tenille, Gavin, Clayton, Tyson, Becky, Tony, Mario, Kyle and Tracey; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Funeral service for Betty will be conducted on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 3:30 PM from the Irma School Auditorium. Interment will take place at 1:30 PM at the Irma Cemetery. If so desired the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Irma Cemetery Fund, Wainwright CT Scanner Fund or the Haying in the 30’s
